2025 marked the centenary of the Society’s Annual Design Competition, a milestone celebrated with a special live event at the Dye House Gallery, Bradford College. More than 70 award winners and commendation recipients from the 2025 competition joined us for the occasion. We were also pleased to welcome our generous long-standing sponsors and our industry judges, whose continued support is invaluable.
The event was further enriched by our keynote speaker, Mary-Ann Dunkley, Design Director at Liberty, who delivered an inspirational and memorable lecture enjoyed by all. Mary-Ann shared that Liberty’s studio team, who also judge two of the print categories (P1 and P4), look forward to taking part in the annual judging each year.
To commemorate the design competition’s centenary year, the Society introduced a special prize recognising Sustainability, Innovation and Textile Craftsmanship and demonstrating why UK design education is considered best in the world. A £1,000 award was presented to the winner, Florence Robinson (University of the West of England) whose submission best reflected these qualities.
The 4 2025 Travel Prize winners, sponsored by the CIWMT., enjoyed an expenses paid visit to Paris for the February Premiere Vision show.
Members of the Bradford Textile Society and guests gathered on 21st November 2025 for the Society’s annual dinner, held at the Cedar Court Hotel, Bradford. The event was a great success, welcoming 130 guests for an evening of celebration, camaraderie and networking.
